It’s going to be a great weekend to get out and about in Omaha! Looking for something different to do? Here are some great frugal activities around town. Have a wonderful time!
Public Skating at Mid-America Center – Mid-America Center, Council Bluffs, North Entrance. Through 2/20/12. First-come, first-served on skates. Sun/12 & 2pm; Mon & Wed/6pm. $5 admission, $3 skate rental.
Free Family Flicks at Aksarben Cinema,67th St. Saturdays and Sundays this winter, see a family movie FREE with donation of a canned good or non-perishable item for Together, Inc. (One-dollar donations are also accepted in lieu of canned good.) January 28–March 4, 2012. This Saturday’s movie is: “Mr. Popper’s Penguins.”
JazzAfter5 at the LJAC- Live Music, food and drinks at LovesJazzArtsCenter. LJAC will have the host of events during this month. Friday, February 17, 5-8 pm, $5. This is awesome jazz!
Acoustic Music Sunday at Soaring Wings Vineyard, Springfield. Enjoy some great wine and great music. This event is now year-round, outside weather-permitting, or inside. 2-5 pm. Sunday, February 19 is also their first gumbo dinner for Mardi Gras! Reservations are recommended.
Books by the Busload at 1000 California St., Westroads Mall. FREE books Friday-Saturday 10 am – 4 pm.
Genealogy: Vital Records for the Vital Events of Their Lives – The next class in geneology at the Mormon Trail Center. Saturday, February 18, 9-noon, free.
Kidz Explore at the Mid-America Center. Annual kid and parent-centered event with activities, vendors and free stuff. Saturday and Sunday, February 18-19, 2012, 10 am – 5 pm. Admission $7 adults; $5 children age 2 are free — discount tickets are available at No Frills Supermarkets.
Nebraska Robotics Expo at the SAC Museum, Ashland. Begins 8:30 am and runs all day. Regular admission applies. See link for more details.
